Here’s what this opportunity is all about:

  • Develop relationships with clients through thoughtful and intelligent advising, service, consultation, planning, management and leadership of their digital and marketing strategy
  • Identify new business opportunities for the agency within current client accounts
  • Foster the clients’ understanding of our agency’s capabilities, and how those capabilities can strengthen their brands and organizations
  • Translate client business objectives, market and marketing data and product info into brand, marketing and digital strategies (account planning)
  • Author proposals and strategic marketing plans that strategically align to business/marketing needs, and define and scope deliverables
  • Establish the objectives (results, timelines, quality, metrics) for each client engagement or project and lead toward those objectives
  • Working with our internal team, advise/select/recommend the most effective processes, platforms, tools, technologies and channels to achieve the clients’ objectives
  • Collect, organize and disseminate the information or data required to complete a project, show performance and deliver results
  • Oversee all internal and external activities, budgets, calendars and any ‘touch points’ with clients; ensure that internal and external team members have what they need and are managing their responsibilities and people
  • Maintain and foster an open flow of information, insights and ideas to team, clients and partners around project plans and status
  • Financial management of accounts including forecasting, budgeting, invoicing, and reconciliation
  • Lead, guide and supervise account managers, executives and/or coordinators on client work
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Creative/UX leads, Strategy leads, Production and Project Managers as a leader, advocate and advisor to our client
  • Leadership of and contribution to agency’s internal digital experience and marketing processes and people that result in a positive client experience working with Schermer, profitability for Schermer, and professional development of our staff

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Minimum 8 years marketing agency experience in client service roles
  • B2B marketing experience
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing communications and digital marketing
  • Incisive understanding of, and ability to define, clients’ strategic objectives and challenges
  • Ability to understand complex information and situations, and reduce them to their most workable forms
  • Familiarity with website/interactive principles and their applications
  • Intense curiosity that drives a search for new ideas and knowledge, continually monitoring developments in the advertising industry and in client industries, and managing own professional development through reading, networking, seminars and other educational opportunities
  • Has a blend of analytical and intuitive skills
  • Excellent client relationship skills
  • Ability to lead others through inspiration, example, communication and accountability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational abilities
