We are looking for an Agency Marketing Manager, responsible for developing, executing, and overseeing SCHERMER’s marketing efforts and programs to strengthen our brand, drive engagement, build reputation and support business development. This individual will manage the full marketing lifecycle, from defining communications strategy with agency leadership, to content creation and amplification, to marketing execution and performance analysis. Helping us find, pitch and secure speaking events and publishing opportunities will be important. The role requires a strong writer and strategic thinker who can identify opportunities, craft compelling messaging and content, tell our stories and ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints. A background in content marketing, marketing communications management and/or public relations experience is highly desirable to effectively elevate the agency's profile and amplify our national visibility.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Marketing Strategy & Campaign Development (40%)

  • Develop and implement multi-channel marketing campaigns, ensuring consistent branding and messaging that align with business goals. Primary channels; LinkedIn and establishing an email program.
  • Develop and execute PR initiatives designed to boost agency visibility, enhance the profile of agency leadership, and position SCHERMER as a thought leader in the B2B marketing space.
  • Work with Performance Marketing team to direct budget and manage channels.
  • Help create and manage prospect list/database.

 

Content Development & Thought Leadership (30%)

  • Write and develop engaging content, including social media updates, email newsletters, case studies, blog posts/articles, and marketing collateral.
  • Work closely with internal teams to create content and author case studies that showcase SCHERMER’s expertise and drive demand generation.
  • Identify industry trends and develop thought leadership opportunities, including speaking engagements, appearances, and events for agency leadership.
  • Secure and prepare agency leaders for high visibility speaking opportunities, panel discussions, podcasts, and interviews to amplify SCHERMER’s market presence.
  • Organize periodic events for the agency, incl. webinars, roundtables, guest events and more.
  • Lead Award competition entry process; identify, define, and manage award competitions, author entries, work with PM, account, and creative team to create and submit.

 

Market Research & Performance Analysis (20%)

  • Conduct market research and audit market/competitors to understand customer needs, competitive positioning, and emerging trends.
  • Track key marketing metrics, analyze campaign data, and make data-driven recommendations for optimization.
  • Develop reports and insights to inform leadership on marketing effectiveness and strategic opportunities.

 

External Engagement & Business Development Support (10%)

  • Proactively identify, recommend, and manage participation in strategic industry events, media opportunities, awards, and sponsorships to increase brand visibility and recognition of SCHERMER and its leadership.
  • Support outreach programs to prospective clients identified by leadership.
  • Collaborate with agency leaders to enhance SCHERMER’s presence in key B2B marketing communities.
  • Find partnerships, collaboration opportunities, associations and more to support our efforts.
  • Help contribute to Pitch process, including managing, writing, and preparing for RFIs/RFPs.

  • Marketing Expertise: Strong understanding of marketing principles, strategies, and channels (digital, content marketing, social media, email, etc.).
  • Writing & Communication: Excellent writing and editing skills, with experience creating compelling content for diverse audiences.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute effective marketing plans that align with business objectives.
  • Public Relations: Proven ability in media relations, event management, securing speaking engagements, and successfully positioning executives as thought leaders in relevant industry circles.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work within budget constraints.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in tracking campaign performance, analyzing data, and drawing insights to improve marketing effectiveness.
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Strong ability to work cross-functionally with agency leaders, designers, content creators, and external partners.
  • Proficiency in Marketing Tools: Experience with CRM, email marketing platforms, analytics tools, and social media management systems is a plus. MS PowerPoint mandatory. WordPress editing experience desired. Individual will be responsible for utilizing AI tools for content creation.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of experience in B2B marketing and/or in a marketing/PR/business development role within an agency or B2B services company. Must have a proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing / PR / Business Development strategies, programs, and results.
